To be held at the United Nations in New York
Today, lack of safe water, sanitation and hygiene remain one of the world's most urgent health challenges. This symposium highlights the fundamental role of water for global health and shows how the burden of disease can be alleviated through increased access to safe water and better sanitation. The objective is to convene the Millennium Development Goals, the symposium also seeks to provide the basis for preventive action by leaders of governments, international organizations and the private sector, managing critical water resources and services for public health.
